Summary

Purport

Like rays of a thousand Suns, glitter His long crown;
if you are in search of Rama, the illustrious One;
Think of Nrusimha who tore open Hiranyakashipu's mighty chest;
many saw Him even as His hand was engaged in bloodfest.

Sword, Conch, Mace,sounding Bow, Discus;
Looking for proud Rama who holds these to protect us?
For Sita with fingers like petals,He broke the tough bow ;
Many who saw this at King Janaka's sacrifice did know.

Purport

Plucked the tusk of a rogue elephant; demolished many a foe;
Seeking the God who pierced seven trees with just an arrow?
When monkeys carried rocks on head to build bridge across the sea;
He was lying by the tumultous shore, many indeed did see.

Purport

When water engulfed the earth, He changed His old form*;
Looking for Him,the wonder child? Here's the clue I inform;
For the sake of a cowgirl**, He killed seven bulls in a fight;
and stood sweating, many are there who saw His might!

*He changed His big form into that of a child and
floated on a fig leaf during the deluge.

The blue throated One with matted locks* and the four faced One**
worship Him ‌in order; Is your search for the Lord has begun?
Forcefully abducting & mounting Rukmini on a carriage He went;
then took on the army who opposed; many who saw this at the event.

Is the great blue gem hued One subject of your quest?
Look, He was in the sea-city Dwaraka with countless wives;
seated on His throne flanked by all; many saw this in their lives.

Purport

Holding white Conch and an effulgent Discus in His hands;
wonder where He is? come! let me give a hint on where He stands;
On a white horse-pulled chariot having a monkey flag on its rim;
covertly helping His army win the war*; many have seen Him.

Pandavas win the Mahabharatha war.

Purport

Kings took turn to guard Jayathratha the whole day;
Devaki's Son used Discus to hide Sun, making day pass away;
As this happened, Arjuna cut Jayathratha's head and it rolled
into a pit; He was then by Arjuna's side, to many this was unfold

In His avatar as Boar, He rescued the big earth from under;
and wed lady earth of lovely dark hair; many saw this wonder.

Purport

The matters relating to the great Lord of dark-cloud color;
composed as ten pasurams by periAzhwAr, the rich vedic scholar
of Puthuvai where rice fields tall and bent like horse' face;
those who meditate on these shall attain Lord's feet & grace.
